Shannon is a devoted Mental Health Coach who passionately advocates for the emotional and cognitive well-being of youth within her community. She specializes in addressing the complex concerns of youth, adolescents, and young adults, to empower them to positively navigate societal stress. Shannon helps her clients increase educational achievement and emotional intelligence, build healthy relationships and social skills, develop self-confidence, learn conflict resolution techniques, and gain appropriate skills to cope with grief. Her counseling practices are trauma-informed, creating a therapeutic environment where her clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings, unlocking a deeper understanding of themselves. 

Shannon's approach is based on a holistic philosophy grounded in evidence-based methods that equip her clients with essential tools to thrive. She adheres to the core counseling beliefs of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional acceptance and integrates multimodal learning to tailor support to the needs of each unique client. Shannon believes in utilizing a strength-based approach to ensure a positive growth mindset that acknowledges her clients' positive attributes and resilience. When working with her younger clients, she uses mindfulness games, developmentally appropriate literature, a data-driven curriculum, and expressive art techniques to improve mental health and enhance creativity. During sessions with adolescents and young adults, she focuses on strategies that challenge negative thinking patterns, guide clients to improve self-awareness, and foster personal development. Her techniques allow her clients to reach their full potential and overcome challenges by providing effective coping skills for their future. 

With over a decade of experience in educational environments, a master's degree in school counseling, and a bachelor's degree in health and wellness, Shannon understands that mental health matters at every age. Throughout her career, she has honed her skills in coaching clients to identify, express, and regulate their emotions effectively. Shannon recognizes that life is not linear and is dedicated to collaborating with each client in a way that supports their individual goals for success, growth, and healing.
