Talk Therapy

Talk therapists (also known as Psychotherapists) have been trained extensively in attachment, neurobiology, psychology, family patterns, relational dynamics, trauma, and human behavior. This training allows them to identify where a client gets stuck, and skillfully navigate a clear path to healing and growth.

Pam Hamilton

Psychotherapist, EMDR, EFT

Whether in the therapy room or speaking to audiences Pam brings energy, insight, and hope to her interactions. She is a firm believer in the resiliency of all people, and the innate capacity for healing.

Pam is kind yet direct, supportive but not enabling, and brings a depth of life experience and training to therapy.

Pam’s is best suited to support you as you heal from trauma, navigate difficult relationships, process grief and loss, loosen anxiety’s grip or recover from divorce. She believes that understanding the nervous system through the lens of Polyvagal Theory (the Vagus nerve connection!) is vitally important.

A ‘get to know you’ phone call or visit is welcomed by Pam, as she believes the therapeutic relationship is vitally important and wants you to feel confident in your choice as you begin therapy.

Pam has created the Human Trafficking curriculum adopted by the state of Missouri’s Child Welfare Department and is a former member of the state Trauma Committee and the Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Task Force. She also is the lead consultant to Missouri’s Child Welfare workers for secondary trauma and human trafficking cases.

Teressa Thurwanger

LCMFT | Psychotherapy-Trauma-informed therapy and EMDR, and A.R.T (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) for individuals, couples, and families

Teressa is a trauma-informed, collaborative therapist who practices a holistic approach. She works with individuals 21+, couples, and non-traditional relationship structures. (ethical non-monogamy polyamory, etc.) “Watching people show up, work hard, and reap the amazing benefits in their life from their practices of courage and vulnerability gives me life.”

Teressa graduated with two undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice and Elementary Education from Evangel University in 1997, pursuing law enforcement as her first career for several years. Next up was staying home with her baby boy (who’s a grown man in the United States Navy now!), then working as a private investigator for the Missouri State Board of Nursing and the Missouri Real Estate Commission.

After beginning her own self-work with a therapist and a few years later navigating her divorce with intention, mindfulness, and kindness, Teressa decided she wanted to go back to school. She wanted to learn how to use all of her experiences to help others in the way she herself had been helped—with clinical skill and unconditional positive regard.

She attended the Friends University Marriage and Family Therapy Program and received a Master of Science with honors in 2017. She is fully licensed in the states of Kansas and Missouri.

Teressa is both incredibly warm and unapologetically bold, holding every gritty thing you might bring to a session with compassion and an utter lack of judgment.

She looks forward to meeting you!

Teressa is Private Pay and does not provide Superbills.
